ABOUT MODERNDADS TM

This website is designed for individual men and women, schools, and organizations, to use as a resource for practical parenting solutions, useful information, and also as a springboard for discussion about the public policy and private decisions dads, moms, caregivers, and families face on a daily basis in negotiating the complexities of parenting in the 21st century.

WHAT IS A MODERN DAD?

He is a dad/dad-figure who:

  1. Sees the changing role of dads today as opportunity (versus wanting to return to the inequalities and stereotypical gender roles of the past)
  2. Tries new/different approaches to fathering (versus refusing to change or grow)
  3. Envisions and builds the kind of relationship he wants with his kids, while clearly understanding the legacies he carries (versus being a reactive parent with little insight into his own past)
  • Are you a modern dad?
  • Are the men in your life modern dads?
  • Does your organization support modern dads?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or questions, so please feel free to email me at john@johnbadalament.com
